Local Players lead Cork Underage Teams to Success

The Rebel Ãg Academy teams / Cork Development Squads had a day to remember lately with a stunning clean sweep of all seven Munster and All Ireland hurling tournaments from U14 to U17 (winning all 24 matches). These results bode well for the future of Cork Hurling and Ballincollig in particular, with 10 local lads togging out for Cork on the day.

This is a great achievement for Ballincollig GAA, contributing as many players as any other club in the County. At this stage it is important to recognise the huge volume of work completed by Youth Development and Juvenile coaches and players over the past number of years, in both football and hurling .
These Cork stars visited our Youth Development training last Sunday morning also, to inspire the younger members of the club to follow similar paths in future. It was not too long ago that these intercounty players started out down the club themselves on a Sunday morning, so fingers crossed Ballincollig GAA continues to produce intercounty stars at every under-age group, and beyond...
