July 08, 2015
Ballincollig 1-09 Naomh Abán 0-11
On Tuesday 30th June, Ballincollig hosted Naomh Abán in a Division 2 league match.
On a warm sunny evening, the visitors made the better start and built a half time advantage of 0-6 to 0-2. Colligâs defence worked hard to limit scores and as the second half progressed, our forwards began to find their range. Our crucial goal came from the alert Kevin Bohane after a double save from Naomh Abánâs keeper.
In a nip and tuck second period, Collig scored some nice points highlighted by a monster score from distance by Tim Collins. The move of Dan Murphy to full forward yielded two points and, combined with strong showings from JP O Leary, Ian Roche and Rob Walsh, Ballincollig did enough to win by 1 point on a score line of 1-9 to 0-11.
Line Up: John Stevenson; Tim Collins, Eoghan O Callaghan, Eamonn Murphy; John Connaughton, JP O Leary, Oliver Ryan; Rob Walsh, Dan Murphy; Eoin Byrne, Ian Roche, Kieran O Toole; Gavin O Callaghan, Mark O Sullivan, Fergal Considine.
