Ballincollig 1-16 Inniscarra 1-7
Our junior hurlers were comfortable winners over Inniscarra in the second round of the Ballincollig Credit Union JAHC at Blarney last night. We led by six points at the break and completely dominated the third quarter of the game. Inniscarra did briefly threaten to get back in the game but the Ballincollig defence held firm. Colin Harris was outstanding at centre back while Aidan Donovan also impressed.
Aidan Donovan is extremely accurate from placed efforts and he converted a couple of chances for Ballincollig in a very scrappy opening to the game. A placed effort from the aforementioned Donovan was superbly flicked to the net by our captain John OâBrien. Three placed efforts from Aidan Donovan ensured we held a comfortable advantage, 1-7 to 0-4 at the break.
On resumption, Ballincollig completely took over and converted placed efforts from Cian Dorgan and Aidan OâDonovan increased our lead. Further points from Stephan Coughlan, Killian Kelleher, and Chris Collins effectively ended this game as a contest. Both sides brought on a number of substitutes and the tempo of the game really petered out in the closing stages. Ballincollig are through to the next round of the competition and will meet Ãire Ãg.
