Ballincollig GAA Golf Society launches “Fuel & Fund” initiative in conjunction with Spillane’s Maxol, Ballincollig

The Ballincollig GAA Golf Society launched its new club fundraising initiative with our long standing sponsors Spillane’s Maxol last Friday night in the club bar. Members of the Golf Society as well as representatives from the other sections of the club were in attendance to hear about this very exciting plan that kicks off from Saturday 19th October and will run all year round. The objective of the promotion is for people to purchase their petrol and diesel in Spillane’s Maxol, Ballincollig and in turn place your receipt in a specially designated box behind the bar in the GAA Club. At the end of each year the receipts are totalled and sponsorship will be determined on the amount spent.

This is a very progressive way of sponsorship as it allows both Ballincollig GAA Club and the sponsor to gain from people’s participation. Spillanes have been the main sponsor our the annual Golf Classic for the past 5 years and in that time have contributed in a huge way with their financial donations. This new initiative whilst being overseen by the Golf Society is open to ALL CLUB MEMBERS and also to anyone who would like to see our club benefit from the project. Again, just to emphasise the simplicity of the fund
1) Buy your petrol/diesel in Spillane’s Maxol, Ballincollig
2) Bring your receipt to Ballincollig GAA Club and place it in the box behind the club bar
It could not be simpler!!

At the launch, Michael O’Mahony on behalf on the Golf Society thanked Spillanes for their continued sponsorship and expressed his hope that people will buy into the initiative in a big way. The Golf Society has through its annual Classic helped raise over €200K through the years. This money has gone directly into club funds and has helped enormously in the development of our fine club facilities.

Ger Coughlan who represented Spillane’s Maxol on the night thanked the Golf Society for their warm welcome. Ger stated that rather than limiting their contributions he feels that the mechanisms involved with this project will see Ballincollig GAA Club benefit to an even greater extent if we can ensure a large buy in to the promotion. As a proud Blackrock man himself he knows too well the importance of sponsorship and he gave his commitment to doing all he can to promote the project from the beginning. So, now it is over to all club members to remember the “Fuel & Fund” slogan and help your local GAA club in the process.
