Cashman Cup 2016
June 13, 2016
Ballincollig U10s played in the finals of the Cashman cup last Saturday. Having played brilliantly in the group stages we had both our teams in the semi-finals. Ballincollig 2 won a cracking semi-final against Barrs 2, just edging it 7 scores to 6. In the other semi, Ballincollig 1 faced Barrs 1. The sides finished level in normal time - 6 scores each. We just lost out by a single score after extra time in a game that could have gone either way. The standard of hurling was top class and a credit to all involved.
Ballincollig 2 faced Barrs 1 in the Final with honours even at half time. In fairness to the Barrs, they hit 3 quick scores after half time and it was those 3 scores that separated the sides at the final whistle, despite a huge effort from our lads. We are hugely proud of both teams.
Ballincollig had 40 players involved in this competition, all on the age. Each player contributed hugely to a very successful competition. We have a great group that work really hard in training and the team motto "EFFORT, EFFORT, EFFORT" is plain to see for all supporters. UP THE VILLAGE!!
