U21 Mid-Cork Champions

Ballincollig 1-12 Cill Na Martra. 1-10
Our 21A football footballers were crowned mid-Cork champions after a narrow victory over Cill Na Martra in Kilmichael last Saturday. Thiswas a really exciting championship encounter and Eoin O'Reilly's second half goal proved the real match winning score. Our opponents stormed out of the blocks and landed some exquisite scores from distance. Slowly but surely we got back in the game with Kevin Browne and Robbie Burke playing some exciting football. Defenders Luke Fahy and Luke Carey Murphy we're outstanding while Cian Dorgan landed some excellent scores. After dominating the closing period the sides were level at 0-4 apiece at the break .
After we break our play improved significantly and Cian Dorgan landed a couple of outstanding placed efforts. After going four points clear a couple of black cards put our defence under significant pressure. Cill Na Martra got back on level terms with some well taken scores
before going ahead with a penalty. However we weathered the storm and Eoin O'Reilly was in the right place to blast home with a powerfulshot. This was a superb victory and John Noonan and his management team deserve great credit for bringing home the first trophy of the year.
