U21 footballers reach Mid-Cork Final

March 15, 2016

Ballincollig 0-13 Inniscarra 0-10

Our U21 footballers have reached the mid-Cork final after an outstanding victory over neighbours Inniscarra at Ballinora last Saturday. We played with the breeze in the opening half and our defence was absolutely outstanding. Cian Dorgan was in imperious form early on and clipped over a couple of excellent frees. Luke Fahy is enjoying a tremendous campaign and he finished off an excellent team move with a terrific score. After a real tough opening half we led by 0-9 to 0-5 at halftime.

Our opponents came at us really strongly in the second period and Ciaran Noonan brought off a couple of fantastic saves. Cian Kiely and Colin Donovan kept the shackles on our opponents danger men. Robbie Burke was also very prominent while Mark Prendergast worked tirelessly throughout. This was an excellent team performance from all concerned and we face a very strong Cill Na Martra outfit on Saturday afternoon in Kilmichael. Team: C Noonan; L Fahy, S O'Neill, K Crowley; D Kierstein , C Donovan ,L Carey Murphy; P O'Neill, C Kiely; R Burke, M Prendergast, G O'Donoghue; K Browne, C Dorgan, E O'Reilly. Subs: B O’Halloran for S O’Neill, S O’Sullivan for P O’Neill.
