Ballincollig GAA wish to express deepest sympathies to Carroll family on the passing of great friend Johnny Carroll

Johnny made an immense contribution to our club, most memorably as a selector with our U21 teams that reached the county finals in 2009 and 2010, securing the championship in 2009. His knowledge, commitment, and steady presence were invaluable to all who played under him.

Beyond the club, Johnny had a distinguished playing career. He won two Munster medals and lined out in the 1967 All-Ireland Senior Football Final for Cork, a hard-fought contest narrowly lost to Meath. His achievements remain a proud part of Cork GAA history, and many within the club will remember his stories, his humour, and his deep love for the game.

Johnny sons Dave and Jon both also played with distinction for the club while Alan is a dedicated supporter of all teams, Alan’s enthusiasm for Ballincollig GAA, Camogie and LGFA is evident in everything he does.

Johnny was a gentleman, a mentor, and a lifelong supporter of Ballincollig GAA. He will be greatly missed.
