U14 Premier 2 Hurling League Winners

Our U14 Hurlers travelled to Rostellan, Aghada early on Saturday morning to take on Aghada in the P2 Hurling League Final. Fresh from their semi-final win over Valley Rovers on Wednesday night it was going to be a tough ask to come out on top in Aghada on this cold morning. 

Aghada started stronger and were ahead 2-06 to 0-07 at the half-time whistle. But it was all to play for and the 'Collig boys kept chipping away at the lead with goals from Killian O'Mahony and Darragh Lee to bring things level at 2-08  apiece with 15 minutes left on the clock. Both teams added points to the board and with minutes left Eoin Dwyer scored the point to push Balllincollig in front 2-13 to 2-12.

There was an almighty scramble in front of the Ballincollig goalmouth in the last minute of the game but tenacious defending saw Ballincollig hold out to get their hands on the winning trophy.

James Hussey, Captain of the Ballincollig team gladly accepted the Cup to round off a fantastic week of hurling for these boys. Well done to all the coaches and mentors and thank you to all the supporters. #upthevillage #hurling
