U13s visit Ballyboden

U13s visit Ballyboden

November 11, 2014

Last weekend our U13s travelled to Ballyboden in Dublin. On arrival we were treated to lunch by our hosts before the games began. We played 3 games of football against Castleknock, Rathoath from Meath and Ballyboden, with each game lasting 20 minutes. Weather conditions were appalling but the all weather pitch was perfect. We beat Castleknock and Rathoath and lost narrowly to Ballyboden. Afterwards we headed to Ballyboden's clubhouse where we enjoyed the fabulous spread laid on for us. The boys then headed off to Ballyboden player's homes where they were treated like royalty, and the coaches retired to the hotel for an early night!

On Sunday morning we played Ballyboden in Hurling where in a tight game they pipped us at the end. We presented our hosts with a Ballincollig jersey and Louis Heffernan received a Ballyboden Jersey on behalf of the team.  On our way home we stopped off for dinner in The Horse and Jockey.

The management would like to thank most sincerely our hosts Ballyboden for a wonderful weekend, our U13s for their impeccable behaviour all weekend (ye are a credit to yourselves), your families and your club. As our season nears an end, we look forward to the P1 football plate final where we play either Nemo or Mallow, in a few weeks,  A special mention for manager Terence O'Leary for organising this trip and to our bus driver Steve Jones who was very accommodating all weekend. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and look forward to the return visit of Ballyboden in the new year.
