On a beautiful Tuesday evening In Kilmurry GAA grounds, the Ballincollig Junior C team got their 1st win of the league campaign with an exciting win over Kilmurry. Further points from Gavin O’Callaghan and Daniel Barry and a point from Kevin Bohane left the Half time score at Ballincollig 0-07 Kilmurry 0-07.

Ballincollig again started brightly early in the second half and gradually got on top with some very well worked team scores from Gavin O’Callaghan, Daniel Barry, John Noonan and Ronan Cambridge. Kilmurry got a goal against the run of play but Ballincollig upped their game after this to pull further ahead when Gavin O’Callaghan goaled and Michael McNulty kicked 2 points inside a minute. A Daniel Barry point left the score at Ballincollig 1-16 Kilmurry 1-11 with less than 10 minutes to go. Kilmurry mounted a spirited comeback in the closing stages and had the deficit back to a point going into injury time. Ballincollig won a crucial kick out and worked the ball to Joe Callinan on the Kilmurry 13.
