Great win for Ballincollig U12 v Eire Óg

Great win for Ballincollig U12 v Eire Óg

March 23, 2013

Ballincollig 3-9, Eire Óg 3-3

Our Under 12s have been busy this month, with two challenge matches in addition to their Monday night training. Their first match saw them playing Passage West (at home) on the 8th March under lights. This was a great opportunity for the panel to practice their skills and put in some good team-work. It was a great hour of football and the girls learned a lot from the match which they brought to their second match v Eire Óg on Monday, 18th March (away).

The ball-passing between the players had greatly improved with every girl making great runs with the ball and looking and calling for players. Molly opened up the Ballincollig scores on the night with a great goal, which quickly settled the Ballincollig team. With Siobhán, Hannah and Ruby doing great running in the middle of the field, they were quick to every ball and passing it forward. Julie and Kara and Diane were great for getting in good positions and feeding the ball into a good shooting position. Our ever reliable goalie Erin made some beautiful saves and with her strong kick outs up the field, ensured that the ball was spending more time up the field. Our back line of Louise, Aisling and Ciara, made life very difficult for the Eire Óg forwards and with Lauren and Ciara determined on the half line, there was great passing of the ball up the field. Ballincollig steadily added up their scores, with a further two goals from Kara and even though Eire Óg came back at us strongly, it was our point scoring on the night that saved the day, with some lovely point scoring from Orla, Hannah, Kara and Molly.

Final score Ballincollig 3-9 Eire Óg 3-3
