Junior Ladies Defeat Doughnamore in Championship quarter final

September 11, 2012

Ballincollig 5-12 Doughnamore 1-7

Our Junior Ladies are having a great season this year, with a 100% record in their Championship campaign to date. However, they knew that they would have to dig deep when they met Doughnamore in the Championship Quarter-final clash on Tuesday, 4th September (at home). The Ballincollig ladies came out strong, scooping up every ball and steadily adding up their points. Doughnamore were quickly closed down as they tried to add to their scoreline, with Ballincollig scoring 4 beautiful goals (Elaine, Eimear, Sam) and pulling further and further away. Our ladies ended the first half with a confident 12 point lead.

Again, Ballincollig came out strong in the second half and after initially scoring another goal, steadily added to their scoreboard with some superb points. Doughnamore's attempts to score were quickly dealt with, as our back-line displayed great confidence clearing the ball under pressure. It was a fantastic win for Ballincollig, who keep their 100% record intact, with Ballincollig beating Doughnamore by 17 points.
