Senior Section Notes ( Sept 21 )

September 21, 2016

Our Intermediate hurlers take on Dungourney Saturday at 4.30pm in
Riverstown. Following the outstanding victory of our footballers there
is no let up. Our opponents are a well balanced side who got promoted
from the Junior ranks last season. We have been making progress all
season and the management team will hopefully have a full strength
panel. We started brilliantly in the drawn game but some sloppy
shooting nearly cost us dearly in the end. In recent weeks the
addition of a number of returning players has boosted morale and this
is a very winnable game. The club is extremely grateful to the
outstanding support from the whole parish as we enter the real
business end of the season .

Senior Footballers & U21 victories
Our victory over Castlehaven before a massive crowd in Clonakilty last
Saturday night has set up a mouth watering clash with Nemo Rangers on
Sunday week. Although our opponents were missing a number of key
players , our lads played exceptionally well with Cian Dorgan , George
Durrant and goalkeeper David Lordan particularly impressive. Our U21
hurlers kept up the momentum with a comfortable victory over
Aghabullogue at Ovens on Monday. There is a nice blend of youth and
experience and we face the winner of Ballinora/ Eire Og in the
mid-Cork Final in a couple of weeks.
