FEILE Football 2016

FEILE Football 2016

June 21, 2016

Ballincollig Hurling and Football club are proud to announce that our U14 Footballers will be taking part in this year's National Football Feile which starts this Friday (24th June). We will be hosting the Armagh champions, Killeavy who along with ourselves will be in a group that also consists of our near neighbours Eire Og as well as Na Fianna from Offaly.

Our first game takes place on Friday evening in Eire Og against the home team at 5pm which will be followed by a game against Na Fianna at 6.30pm. We will then play Killeavy in Ballincollig on Saturday morning at 11am before moving to Mallow to play in a semi-final of whichever group we qualify for. The winner of these finals in Mallow will progress to the finals on Sunday in Killarney.

As you can see this is a fairly hectic schedule but is a just reward for this group of lads who only recently won the P2 Football county final as well as finishing the regional heats of Feile unbeaten. We would ask that all club members as well as the wider Ballincollig community to come and join us over the weekend in firstly welcoming our Northern neighbours when they arrive at the club at 3pm on Friday and again at any of the venues where we will be playing over the weekend. There will be a Feile disco (admission €5 payable at the door) in the club on Saturday night from 8.30pm-11pm for 13-15 year old age group as well as music in the club bar from 10pm.  It is not too often that we get to play in national tournaments so let us put our best foot forward and make it a weekend to remember!  Up the Village!
