Hurlers in "Fiery" League Opener

Our Intermediate hurlers got the new season underway with a league game against Bandon last Sunday in the Powdermills. Conditions were slippery and we struggled in the opening quarter against our physically imposing opponents. Aidan Donovan kept the score board ticking over with a number of placed efforts while Ciaran Sullivan battled hard for possession around the midfield sector.
The game threatened to boil over on occasions and our opponents had a couple of players red carded in the final quarter. Brian Cotter added a physical presence upfront while David Bowen made a number of important contributions. As the game progressed our hurling improved and it was a satisfactory opening display.
